The Founder

Moneifa grew up immersed in Caribbean culture, captivated by the elaborate, strappy costuming of Carnival season. She began designing her own — and when a seamstress couldn't execute her vision, she sat down at her mother's sewing machine and learned to do it herself.

Travel deepened the obsession. A trip to Rio de Janeiro, where swim culture is woven into daily life, solidified what Chéri House would become: a luxury swimwear label rooted in the beauty of the world's most extraordinary places, produced by a woman-owned factory in Brazil.
